Finished pieces of work

Mary has finished her pretty velvet piece with machine  stitched collaged flowers. The centres of the flowers have been handstitched with French knots drawing the eye to the flowers.

Thank you Mary for a delightful piece.

Wendy B has made three wonderful mini quilts with a linked theme. She has then added hand stitch for interest. In amongst the fibres and material you can find little interesting objects that Wendy has found on walks and likes to add to her stitching.

I love the way you have used the frayed edges and unravelled fibres for the vegetation adding texture and interest.

Thank you Wendy for your wonderful pieces.

Christina has completed another two mini quilts making five in all and she should be applauded for that number alone.

They are both set on a beach and the first one has a groyne which brings back memories of beach holidays with less than perfect weather all huddled with our backs to the groyne.  Well done for making the perspective of the groyne disappear into the water.

I like the gulls and I have a feeling that in a few seconds they are going to start squabbling over the food!

The second one has a row of beach huts with a wonderful crab in the foreground.

Thank you Christina, they are both tremendous.

Ann has also been very busy and finished a beautiful triptych and a single mini quilt.

I love the way she has used a limited palette and echoed shapes in all three embroideries thus linking them together.

The forth piece has muted colours and makes you think of a lovely warm spring day.

Thank you Ann for your beautiful and interesting work.
