Christmas Meeting Decoration- Pam Crow, Jacob's Join, Secret Santa, - December 2024

 

As we arrived this month we were welcomed by a Christmas tree to help set the mood for our December Meeting. We were laden down with offerings for the Jacob's Join, Secret Santa and our sewing things ready to make a decoration.

One of our own members Pam Crow led the workshop on making a decoration and she showed us the bright, cheerful and Christmassy ones she had made from plastic milk bottle tops. [See Below]

Pam showed us how to make a Suffolk puff over the plastic top and then decorate it. 

She had brought a whole array of things for us to use including material, tops, glittery decorations and templates.

Members set about making their Suffolk puffs in every kind of Christmas material.

Some of the puffs were decorated at once while others waited until they were all made.

We had the choice of making a tree, wreath or a flat tree and as Suffolk puffs mounted up members began to organise them into their chosen decoration.

Most of us took our decorations to finish at home but two members had worked extra fast and the first tree below was nearly finished while the second tree was finished.

Thank you to Pam for showing us how to make the decoration and being so generous with her time and materials. It was a fun session and we look forward to everyone's finished decoration.

At 12 :15 we began to set up for our Jacobs Join and members had been as generous as usual and there was a wide spread of savoury and sweet dishes.

It was nice to take a little longer over our delicious lunch and catch up with peoples news.

After our lunch it was time for Secret Santa and Wendy Barrington had arranged a little game for us.

 One of the above presents was put in front of each member and then Wendy read a short Christmas story and when she read "LEFT" we passed the present to the left and when she read "RIGHT" we passed to the right. Concentration was needed to make sure we passed it the right way and you could hear lots of chuckles as it was nearly passed the wrong way.

When the story ended your present was the one in front of you.

It was a good fun way of sorting the presents and thanks to Wendy for organising it.

At the end of the meeting Happy Christmas was wished to everyone and we would start the New Year with some more sewing.
