Finished Pieces of Work

Joan has finished her embroidery on paper and produced a beautiful picture of blue and yellow flowers amongst green foliage.

She has used machine embroidery to stitch the background and the flowers and then finished off the flowers with hand straight stitching and French knots.

It is wonderful and will look bright and cheery hung on her wall.

Thank you Joan.

Rachael has made a delicate little piece of woodland before the leaves appear, carpeted with bluebells and wood anemones.
She has paid particular attention to the bark on the tree trunks making them look textured covered with moss and lichens.

Thank you Rachael for a pretty piece.

Sandra has made an attractive embroidery on paper which is partially abstract. She has linked various geometric shapes in different forms, circles , squares, crosses as well as leaves that have been stamped and embroidered.

Thank you Sandra for your piece.

Christina has made a delightful paper collage of a wet boggy area and then hand stitched into it to add texture and focal points.

The way the water has been collaged and stitched gives depth, movement and reflection to the piece.
Thank you Christina.

Christina has finished a second embroidered paper piece and it is totally different to her first piece being partially geometric and brightly coloured.
The background has  a pattern on it and then Christina has highlighted the shapes by hand embroidering circles and lines linking the foreground with the background.

Thank you Christina.

Denise has finished her beautiful jellyfish with long flowing tentacles using ribbon and fly stitch.
By making the arms of the fly stitch different lengths it gives the tentacles movement.
She has added texture to the medusa with hand stitching.

Thank you Denise for your colourful piece.

Denise has also finished her pretty blackwork and turned it into a useful needle case.
She has embroidered a wide range of patterns very neatly and precisely and used colour to produce a totally different effect to black.
Thank you Denise for your needle case.
