Finished pieces of Work

When Maureen heard that we were embroidering doodles she looked through her work and found this delightful piece. The basic shapes are paisley and then she has filled them in and the gaps between with embroidered doodles. It makes a beautiful swirly pattern to the eye.

Thank you Maureen for showing us your embroidery.

Karen has finished her one stitch piece and used it to make a very beautiful book cover. She used fly stitch and I love the subtle colours of mauve and grey.

Thank you Karen for your lovely piece and reminding us that we could use the embroidery to make a book cover.

The pretty and delicate pieces below are silk paper made with dried flowers between the fibres. I am sorry there is no name but I didn't  know who made them. Thank you to whoever made them.

These leaves were made over real leaves with silk fibres, then peeled off when dry  being careful to get the imprint of the veins. The veins are wonderful on these leaves.

Christina made her silk paper with flowers into an attractive lightshade. When dry she rolled it to make a small cylindrical shade and put a little battery operated light inside to make the paper glow. Thank you Christina for sharing your clever idea with us.
